There are warriors among you, living amidst your day, You never know who they are, or what they had to pay, the sacrifices they made, the battles they continue to fight. The cold sweats, memories and flashbacks haunt their nights. They walk the sidewalks you walk, see the things you see, but have watched their buddy fall, just so you could be free. They have fought in Afghanistan, Korea, Bosnia, France now they live among you, doing the best they can. Watching every corner for the enemy that wont be there, seeing things you dont see and being hyper aware, finally giving up on the day, and going to have a drink When they sit beside you at the bar, you wouldnt even think. That they shot a rifle, or watched a comrade fall, That they stormed the beaches or fought behind desert walls. That they saw more in their youth, then most do in their entire life. That they left loved ones at home, to do what they thought was right. So take a look among you, find the warrior in your midst. Get to know them, ask them about, and they may tell you what they did.
