Story for the day. Remember the small things which make you the person that you are. The first year we were able to check comments on students report cards, I made a point of checking something on each students report card even though we did not have to. I had this student who was average at best but tried really hard so I checked Shows Improvement. A week or so later, she runs up to me and gave me the biggest hug and said that she had been trying so hard and I was the only one who noticed. Come to find out, she had lost her Mom, and was being raised by her grandmother and life was hard right then. I dont know what happened to her after high school but she made a difference in me. Dont let some of the good little kids who are quiet and good not get the attention and compliments that they deserve. She made me realize how important little things could be. I checked comments for everyone for many years to come. If I had to bet, I predict she is another NMCC success story.
