Stroll the Greenway While Its Still Green next Thursday, May 15 at 5:30 pm! The weather should still be lovely on Thursday evening, May 15th, for a walk along the edge of the Southeast Greenway! Join us to learn more about this amazing piece of land in Santa Rosa. While the hillsides are still green, its a great time to envision how restoration of this land could bring life to this long neglected property. You may be surprised that this land hosts three creeks, old oak and walnut trees, and wide swaths of open space that provide great views of Taylor and Bennett Mountains. Driving by the property on Summerfield or Yulupa does no justice to the vistas offered or magnitude of this 52-acre parcel. The walk is an opportunity to Imagine... A Greenway to Spring Lake and Beyond. Meet up with walk leaders at the parking lot near the tennis courts at Montgomery High School on Thursday, May 15th at 5:30 pm for a 2-hour walk. We will stop by Yulupa Cohousing for a rest stop, continue Greenway Walkup the hill to view how the property connects to Spring Lake Park, and then return to the High School. Terrain is flat, on City streets and sidewalks, and about 4 miles round trip. Please remember to bring hats, water, snacks, sunglasses, sunscreen and any other items you might enjoy on an urban walk.
