Stumped...... if youre not into computers or have relevant knowledge of computers stop reading here lol. Otherwise, if you can in some way assist with this problem, by all means keep reading........ So just built my wife a computer and put a copy of Win7 64 pro on there. Fresh install, all brand new parts. MSI Military grade board/ typical bells and whistles. core i5 haswell. 16gb Ripjaw DDR3 1600. 3Tb WD SATA 6gb/s. EVGA GTX740. Not top of the line but a pretty solid setup. Wife wanted to pick out the Mouse in keyboard so she ordered some Perixx junk she thought looked cute.... Install everything fresh. MB drivers. Windows. Update everything. While this is going on mouse would randomly freeze during installation. Never any of my other USB devices. just the mouse. thought it was odd but i was rebooting a lot and it would start right back working on boot. Only to stop again shortly thereafter, so i ignored the mouse and continued install using only keyboard, figuring it was just a piece of ****. Got everything updated and went out and bought the wife a decent Logitech setup. Did the same thing with the new mouse, regardless of port (USB3.0 or 2.0) or hub. Hooked up my Razer Imperator wired mouse I use on my rig that is an older version of my wifes setup. Did the exact same thing. When I say freeze, I mean freeze. Nothing unfreezes the mouse other than a reboot, OR, oddly enough, when I hit CTRL ALT DEL the mouse unfreezes and i have use again. but the very second I go away from that screen it freezes again. Ive ran the veritable gauntlet of internet resources. Trying anything and everything I can find in forums, from flashing BIOS to disable USB3.0 all the way up to disabling windows power management of USB hubs. Ive tried three different clean slate installs. But its always the same thing. Mouse completely freezes between 2-5 minutes after startup. Works fine in safe mode. Ive tried disabling and uninstalling utilities that came with my mobo, as I suspected the could have been the cause. installing and uninstalling drivers, updating drivers for everything. Even installed microsoft intellipoint. Nothing corrects this, no matter what mouse or what port I use. For the love of God someone please point me in the right directions before I have to be committed.
