Subject: Nominate Corby’s Sporting Stars With the Olympic anniversary just passed Corby Borough Council is looking to celebrate Corby’s own sporting champions through the annual Corby Sports Awards. It’s time to thank our local clubs, schools, volunteers and individuals for their contribution to sport in Corby and recognise the achievements of all those that take part. The nomination process is now open for residents and clubs to put the names of their local sporting stars forward for any of the following categories: Community Club of the Year Team of the year Coach of the Year Volunteer of the Year Get Active 2013 Young Leader of the Year Young Sportsperson 2013 Disabled Sports Achiever 2013 Young Sports Person 2013 Local Sportsperson 2013 Long Time Contribution to Sport Nominations must be submitted by 12 noon on Friday 6th September. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday 17th October from 6.30pm at The Best Western Rockingham Forest Hotel, Rockingham Road, Corby. This excitement has definitely been fed down to local clubs and sporting individuals and we are hoping that the Sports Awards will highlight this. ‘Without local sporting clubs, communities, coaches and volunteers we wouldn’t look forward to our future Andy Murrays, Jessica Ennis’ and Mo Farrahs. The Corby Sports Awards want to thank and recognise teams and individuals for their dedication and achievements in their chosen field.
