Check out your options below: Name of Life Group: Citizenship and Advocacy Leader name(s): Joe Sonheim & Anna Strayhorn Description of the group: Youve heard immigration discussed in the media. But what is the Biblical standpoint? Join us for a two-part class this summer where well spend 5 weeks learning about the history and current status of U.S. immigration and 5 weeks helping immigrants (from ALL over the world) here in our community prepare for their U.S. citizenship test. Day/time/location: Tuesdays 6:30-8:00pm at City Life Church Start & End dates: June 3-August 26 Name of Life Group: Creative Arts Life Group Leader Name: Katie White Description: We will study how the creative process influences and is influenced by our relationship with God. Each week we could share/perform what we have created and worked on in the past week. We could find an inspirational story or piece of scripture and base our new works of art on them or create something together as a group. This will be a way to explore our creativity in Christ and to share our hard work with other Christian artists! When/Where: 6pm on Mondays at the White residence Start date: June 9 Name of Life Group: Tasty—Fruit of the Spirit Leader Name: Dianna Garret Description: Women’s Bible study on the fruit of the Spirit. When/Where: 6:30 pm on Tuesdays at Mel Trotter Start & End dates: June 10-August 12 Name of Life Group: Servant Leadership 101 Leader Name: Becca Currey Description: Explore the basics of leadership through this 8-week life group. Open to all, but will be specifically relevant to those that are currently serving in ANY leadership role, or those who have a particular desire to lead in the future. Topics will include: strengths based leadership, conflict management, non-violent communication and making a plan! When/Where: Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m. @ City Life Start & End dates: June 3-July 22 Name of Life Group: Justice Film Series Leader Name: Thad Hoffheinz Description: In this six-week Life Group, we will watch six documentaries and discuss the topics raised in them using scripture as a lens. Topics will include everything from the drug war to the environment. When/Where: 7:00 pm on Sundays at Thad’s House Start Date: June 15 Name of Life Group: The Challenge of Jesus Leader Names: Scott Stabler and Adam Lipscomb Description: We will read and discuss The Challenge of Jesus by N.T. Wright. Wright’s book aims to articulate how understanding the Jesus of history will help us follow him more closely today. This group is for anyone who wants to know Jesus better and is willing to read. When/Where: 6:30 pm on Tuesdays at City Life Church Start & End dates: June 10-July 29
