Sweet Charlotte update. A busy day for our girl. Vet put her on antibiotics for skin infections and kennel cough/upper respiratory, ears meds, eye drops and some Previcox to help with aching joints. Ran thorough blood tests including thyroid tests and heartworm. Results back on Monday. She might only be around 10 years old. But just so hard to tell in this condition. Shes about 30 lbs. overweight. The vet techs spent about 1 1/2 hours taking out all the burrs and other foliage :) entangled in her coat. They shaved about a lb. off each ear. Certainly isnt going to make the cover of Vogue this month, but her grooming is going to have to happen in baby steps. Spent a couple hours bathing her tonight and cutting out more debris and brushing her. She stood the entire time without moving a muscle. She was amazing! Changed her bedding and tucked her in for the night. Tuesday when shes feeling better, Ill let me groomer get ahold of her and get her completely cleaned up. Trying to at least get a head start on it so doesnt havent to spend an entire day there. We might do it over a couple of days. She is the sweetest thing on the planet!
