Swing Shift remained steady tonight with a couple of arrests: A theft of stolen chairs was reported in the area of Majestic View Dr. Burglary in-progress was called in by Walmart on Mullan Ave. A male and female with 3 children were observed exiting the store with 2 large power wheels and a cake. Their vehicle was stopped on the 12th Ave and both were detained for further investigation. The male invoked and did not want to talk with officers. The female was also not cooperative. The male tried to tell the officers he purchased the merchandise online and had it shipped to Walmart for pickup however, they were watched as they selected the power wheels off the floor and pushed the items out the door after grabbing the cake. The items totaled just about $400.00. The female indicated it was their childrens birthday and they wanted to make it the best birthday ever. The male was booked for burglary and transported to jail. The female was released but was informed she may face conspiracy charges. Walmart took possession of the stolen merchandise. Officers responded to a residence for an out of control juvenile who was battering just about everyone inside the house. After trying to physically control him without success, they locked him out of the residence. When officers arrived they detained the male juvenile. He was then arrested for battery and transported to JDC. A male called in a welfare check on his wife and infant son. Male stated his wife wasnt being herself and did not sound right. When officers arrived the female answered the door upset and crying. There were indicators there could possibly be some abuse/controlling issues at the residence. She was left with a domestic violence pamphlet and a report was taken. Drug paraphernalia was found and turned into the police department. It was taken and place in evidence for destruction.
