Systems Integrator 1 Job Classification Title SYSTEMS INTEGRATOR 1 Job ID # 1860793 X Division Parks, Forestry & Recreation Section Policy and Strategic Planning Work Location METRO HALL, 55 JOHN ST Additional Location Details Metro Hall, 27th Floor Job Stream Information & Technology Job Type Perm/Temp, Full-Time Temporary Duration 12 months Salary/Rate $41.58 - $45.56 / Hour Hours of Work (bi-weekly) 70.00 Shift Information Monday to Friday, 35 Hours per Week Affiliation L79 Full-time Number of Positions Open 4 Posting Date 22-Oct-2013 Closing Date 05-Nov-2013 Job Description Major Responsibilities: Reporting to the Supervisor Application Support, the Systems Integrator 1 will provide expertise and advice related to the development, implementation, configuration and sustainment of the Divisions information technology systems and solutions. •Conducts or leads team in delivery of projects or work packages, including software analysis and design, development, testing, implementation and sustainment •Establishes and maintains business relationships with clients to discuss/assess client needs •Reviews and contributes to Project Charters, Statements of Work and Project Plans •Prepares Business Plans, Gap Analysis, Logical Data Models and Design documents for proposed solutions that leverage information & technology as part of the solution •Prepares and presents status report and variance explanation for projects or work packages •Assesses, analyzes, evaluates and recommends process & policy alternatives for projects & work packages •Identifies risks and prepares action plans to mitigate •Leads team to draft implementation & rollout strategies and plans •Liaises and co-ordinates with internal & external groups on accomplishment of deliverables •Contributes to the redesign of business principles, processes, policies and standards by recommending best practices and improvements to current processes •Determines business requirements and builds consensus amongst clients •Provides input to Data Management teams on transformation of clients’ business requirements •Recommends improvements to current methodology, process, standards, and policies •Liaises with staff in development of test strategies, test cases & test scripts for system, performance, usability acceptance testing of system solutions developed •Assists staff in understanding of business processes and logic •Conducts walk-through of deliverables to identify potential problems •Prepares training material and documentation for use by clients and staff •Prepares findings & “Lessons Learned” from post-implementation project reviews •Conducts training for client and their staff Key Qualifications: Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to: 1.University degree in computer science or related discipline or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 2.Extensive experience in software development with web based frameworks, applications and languages including: PHP, JavaScript, Perl, XML, XSL, HTML, DHTML, JSP, PL-SQL, T-SQL and SSL/HTTPS protocols. 3.Extensive experience developing object and service-oriented, component-based architectures and utilizing rapid development methodologies. 4.Extensive experience with the design, development, implementation and sustainment of medium to large scale web based systems specifically with regard to programming, code management, systems development life cycle approach, testing (unit, acceptance, stress, performance), disaster/recovery and integration with diverse applications and platforms. 5.Extensive experience in the sustainment of medium to large scale web based systems specifically with regard to user support, enhancement analysis, and documentation. 6.Extensive experience in and knowledge of relational database concepts including data modeling, data reporting tools, ETL processes, data dictionaries, and SQL. 7.Considerable experience in system documentation preparation including requirements, user guide, IT operational manual, technical specifications, test cases, test scripts, variance report, release notes, and service support specifications. 8.Considerable experience in understanding users requirements and translating them into technical design documentation to produce scalable, robust web or web portal applications and security components. 9.Considerable experience in providing consulting services to clients for functional and technical requirement including recommending, presenting and demonstrating system solutions.
