T.J. Addington The heart of humility is that whatever strengths I have were entrusted to me by my creator to use on His behalf. And the realization that in my leadership role I deeply need others and it is “us together” who allow me to lead well. In other words it is not about me! It is about a trust I have been given and a team that I need. When Paul tells us to “not think of yourselves more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment” (Romans 12:3) he is getting at this truth. It is not a denial of our abilities but recognition that those abilities are a trust and that we need one another.
