"TABIA MBAYA" IN BURSARY DISBURSEMENT : Good morning my dearest Sogoo and other Kenyans. Iam very angry man!!! This information is from Wikipedia Dictionary. In modern English usage, the term bursary is synonymous with monetary awards made by some institutions to individuals or groups of people WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FULL FEES. According to the GOOD SCHOOL GUIDELINESS, a bursary is "usually for helping out the impoverished but deserving and those fallen on hard times. This definition may be hard for you and me. In simple language, bursary is money set aside by Goverment to help pay and or clear school fees for children who wouldy else drop out of school as a result of: 1) Passing away of parents, (orphans) 2) Excess poverty at home 3) Too many other siblings in school etc etc Since Money is a limited resource, not all chilren who risk dropping out of school can be covered by the fund hence those of them who are bright as well. However, there is a special Bursary designed specifically for all Orphans. The interesting thing in Sogoo Ward in the last regimes is that those who benefited mostly from the funds are the Children with poor performance records ie D minuses and Es from the rich friends and rellatives of the Councilors currently called MCAs. Go to the few schools in this Ward and ask for Bursary beneficiary lists in the last 10 years. Ask to be told their families and their final grades. I know you will not be allowed in the first place to access the lists hence you should be ready to go to court first, so that the courts can direct the schools to avail the information to you. This is what young children reffers to as /tabia mbaya/. How could Bursaries be awarded to E children from the rich then BRIGHT deserving children left out ???? What annoy me most is that my friend Moses has entered into the trap. Confirmed reports shows that performance was not considered in the latest bursary award, (dispatched on 17th June 2013). This is another /Tabia mbaya/. We at DP2013B must complain and anyone is free to take us to court. I heard that Chairman of Everything is planning to sue Mwalimu Andrew Kirui of Sogoo High School because every body now believes he is me. Go ahead chairman. Should we see stupid practices and keep silent in fear? Chapter Six is very clear on the spirit of our constitution on Leadership. Another ashaming thing is that the same rich people may have benefited while neglicable number of ophans and the poor considered. This is very serious. A complete list of the peported 100 students should be posted including their family names. How can we know by just reading names of the children. I already know of one of the big five !!!!! One reason why schools in this county continues to perform poorly is because the bright children get discouraged to see those with Es getting bursaries when they are being send home since their perents are not connected. Someone should research on this. thanks
