#TAS #Flood #Corp Update: RENEWED WARNING MINOR FLOOD WARNING FOR LOWER RIVER DERWENT Issued at 5:01 pm EST on Thursday 3 October 2013 by the Bureau of Meteorology, Hobart Flood Warning Number: 4 Minor flooding continues about the lower reaches the River Derwent below Meadowbank Dam. Minor flooding will extend into the lower reaches around New Norfolk where the river is now rising. Storages within the system are at high levels, with most dams in the system now on spill. Derwent above Ouse River Minor flooding is now easing in the middle reaches of the River Derwent as the flood peak moves through the system. Ouse River River level rises below the Minor flood level. Clyde River River level rises below the Minor flood level. Below Meadowbank Dam Minor flooding continues below Meadowbank Dam. River levels are starting to ease slowly and will remain high into Friday. Minor flooding continues around Macquarie Plains. River levels are currently steady around 4.3 metres and are expected to start easing slowly overnight Thursday. Tyenna River River level rises below the Minor flood level. Styx River River level rises below the Minor flood level. New Norfolk township Minor flooding will extend into the lower reaches about New Norfolk during Thursday evening, with river levels now rising. The river is expected to peak overnight Thursday. Localised flooding in adjacent creeks and surrounding low lying areas around Bushy Park and New Norfolk are likely. Predicted River Heights/Flows: River Derwent at New Norfolk 2.3 - 2.5m Thursday evening 3/10/13 FloodSafe advice is available at ses.tas.gov.au.
