TEACHING: Ok, I have to admit that despite spending several neurotically nervous days before teaching at Omega and in New York City, it went quite well. Ive taught 8 years at a university, 12 years in organizations, and another 15 in small and large groups but that doesnt stop my stomach from doing flip flops, taking one or two or three more trips to the bathroom the day before, and curling up for some time asking myself Why do I have to go; is there a way of canceling? Ive worked on my nervousness in meditation, with world class therapists for decades, and have even made diet interventions and I can only report one real change - Ive come to expect myself to be irrationally anxious and this fact essentially doesnt bother me at all. What am I trying to say? I love teaching and am perhaps most alive in the classroom.
