THANKFUL....I am thankful this evening. It is friday evening and the world is out there raging in revelry and debauchery. I am home here with my brethren on facebook. I had a TV dinner for supper. It cost just $1. It was good and quite satisfying. I had home made ice tea for my drink. I live alone and have no one aside from my brethren here on facebook to talk with. Everything I am wearing has come from a second hand thrift store. Old clothes that have been worn-in enough to make them comfortable like an old friend. I dont have a bed to sleep in. I sleep on an old sofa with extra pillows to prop me up so I can breathe easier and not choke because of my health problems. I have an old comforter for a blanket that someone threw out. All it needed was a good washing. I see by those new low wattage fluorescent lights to cut the electric bill. I have a number of old bibles and used study materials I have found in thrift shops. When I compare all this to other people here in America, I live rather austerely and humble. When I compare all this to Christians in other lands, I am living like a King. Many, if not most of our brethren in other lands have nothing or next to nothing. Most of them do not have a bible. Most of them do not have clean clothing in good repair. Most of them have nowhere but the bare ground to sleep on. Most of them do not have good food to eat. Most of them are cold, hungry, homeless, and are under CONSTANT threat for their lives. All because of their faith in Jesus. No one is threatening to kill me for my faith in Jesus just yet. I may not have much, but I have Jesus. I have adequate housing, food, clothing, and bibles, even though all of it is old and had been discarded by someone else before I received it. I am THANKFUL. God has been and is good to me. I do NOT need the red carpet rolled out for me, as some demand. I am just one of the least of the brethren and I am happy to remain that, if it pleases the Lord for me to remain so. Thank-you Jesus for taking such good care of me. Lord Jesus, I pray for my brethren who have needs that only you can fill. Please tend to them, comfort them, feed them, house them, clothe them, give them bibles, heal their ills, keep them safe from attacks. Lord I pray this in your Holy name. The name above all names. Thank-you Jesus for keeping me comfortable and safe this night. Thank-you Jesus for caring for all my brethren.
