THANKS TO FRIENDS ON FACEBOOK AND TO MY FACEBOOK FRIENDS: Please permit me to start from the scriptures: Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. [1 Thessalonians 5:14-18 KJV] I begin with a very special Merry Christmas wish, and for a happy and prosperous New Year 2015. You have been a blessing to me, and the Lord will bless you in all that you set your hand and heart yo do. It shall be well with you. For those of you still on the way at this time, you will reach your destinations safely. Those of you still shopping in the markets and superstores and even as you travel, there will be no explosions of any sort that will come near you and your loved ones. Those of you trusting God for divine intervention in the issues that confront you should keep hope alive: God will appear for you at the most auspicious time, and will meet that your need. If you are hurting at this time, whatever that hurts you shall be soon past for the Lord will comfort you and give you peace, not as men give but that which surpasses human understanding. Forgive those who have hurt you unconditionally just as you are a beneficiary of the great benevolence of the Most High God. In the course of communicating on this medium, it is possible that you were not at home with some of my posts or opinions on national or other issues, please have it in your heart to forgive me. I have learnt so much on Facebook. This would not have been possible without your input. In matters of opinion, we should learn to ignore those things that do not agree or tally with our position, and if the opinion is not based on facts or the truth, then you will help to state the truth as it is so that others may learn and adjust their opinion. Let us learn to accommodate one another by seeing the social media as a privilege to interact and share information, and not as a boxing arena. Whoever has offended me (if any) on this or any other medium for that matter, should please note that I have forgiven them unconditionally. I give glory to God for keeping you and me safe throughout this period despite the very turbulent times that the country is going through. You will continue to enjoy His protection in Jesus name. Many of us are afraid of many things that are trending around us. The high and mighty are afraid, the small, weak and poor are afraid. The economy with dwindling oil fortunes and a bloated budget that may not favor the people, is a source of great worry. Unemployment and the apparent absence of any pragmatic national plan to reduce poverty, is worrisome. The burden you carry due to absence of transparency in governance, and the trending political fraud where leaders (or dealers) are looking to impose their children or political cronies to continue to deplete an already empty treasury against the wish of the people, is cause for anger and fear. Four more years of uncertainty and fear from wickedness of insurgents and terrorists, will be too much to bear. Do or die politics, 2015 elections and the fear of violence as occurred in 2011, the Ebola Virus Disease which had been conquered in Nigeria but which is now trending once more, are all cause for great concern. There are indeed many more fears that Nigerians and residents nurse: but I have an important message for you, it says: FEAR NOT. Most of the things we fear may never come to pass. God is merciful, and is taking care of these fears as we continue to lay them on His table through our continued prayers. He will surely handle all these and more fears. Men will plan the desires of their heart, but it is the counsel of the Almighty that shall prevail. Their evil plans shall fail as they shall be confounded. And it shall be well with you. Finally, permit me to also adopt the divinely inspired posture of Apostle Paul to exhort my friends thus: please, as you enjoy His grace this season, remember to comfort the feebleminded, endeavor to support the weak, and be patient toward all men as God is patient with us. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. You will have cause to continually testify to the goodness of God as He leads you out of the woods into His gracious presence. Peace be with you this day and always. Amen.
