THE IRONY OF THE CELEBRATION (Independence Day). Too many heroes were struggling for the sake of our countrymen and still we are not free from the bondage of man-made poverty, opportunistic bureaucracy, abusive public service and corruption of all sorts creating an unfavorable conditions in our society. Our sweet experiences of magnanimous freedom brought by Lapulapu, Rizal, Aguinaldo and the Serial People Power are only temporary as exigent to overwhelming crises; and faded with the algorithm of time, as our quick resilience on the fast and furious attitude brought us some incidental amnesia leading to tolerance and smug complacency on a succeeding unlikely state. How many lives are still to be sacrificed for our so called independence save nominal sovereignty. How many battles are yet to be fought to make us actually free. When will we learn from the Chronicles of Time. Unless, we are committed in redefining the moral and ethical environment in our communities we will never have our true Liberty. Semantics.
