THE LAMB PASSED INSPECTION!! Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats. (Exodus 12:5) When God established the PASSOVER, the LAMB was taken on the 10th day of the first month (April). And it was subject to a thorough scrutiny and inspection throughout a four day period. Once proven to be without blemish, the lamb was to be slaughtered and the blood shed and collected on the fourteenth day. From the basin, the blood was then applied to the door post. When this was accomplished, the blemished lives of every family member found protection and security under the blood of the UNBLEMISHED LAMB!! When Jesus entered Jerusalem (on the tenth day), by the time four days were to pass, He would have suffered severe scrutiny and inspection. PILATE said he found no FAULT IN HIM; Judas admitted that he BETRAYED INNOCENT BLOOD; Why, even the THIEF UPON THE CROSS said, this man had done NOTHING AMISS. In this beautiful New Covenant where Christ is our PASSOVER (I Cor. 5:7), although we all are blemished worshippers, we find ourselves having been fully ACCEPTED by God because of the SPOTLESS LAMB of God who was offered at Calvary in the lovely person of Jesus Christ. He was thoroughly inspected and was found WITHOUT FAULT! So the next time youre reminded of your own blemishes, remember it was not you who needed to pass the inspection, ONLY THE LAMB!! Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the PRECIOUS BLOOD of Christ, AS OF A LAMB WITHOUT BLEMISH and WITHOUT SPOT. (1 Peter 1:18-19)
