THE NIGHT I MET JONATHAN WINTERS: I was working at the Comedy Store in 1979 with an improve group and we were dying. Some drunk in the back was funnier than we were. More and more comedians came out to help us but the drunk at the back was funnier than all of us! As any comic knows this is disaster. Robin Williams would show up from time to time (after shooting Mork & Mindy). We all breathed a sigh of relief & cleared the stage. Robin, in his prime, was not get as big a laugh as the drunk at the back. Finally, Robin went out in the audience saying, This guys funnier than me. Im putting him on stage! The audience roared with applause. Turned out the drunk was Jonathan Winters... Funniest night of my life. Robin put Jonathan on his TV show: Mork & Mindy. I really miss you, Jonathan. What a comic genius!
