Age of Ultron: Joss Whedon Talks The Godfather: Part II Being Guiding Star For Next Avengers Film! ------------------------------------------------------ Writer/director Joss Whedon is currently in Paris, France showing off his most recent project, a modern adaptation of the William Shakespeare comedy Much Ado About Nothing. But, of course the filmmaker wont be able to get away from the obvious questions regarding Marvels THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, the film he is currently prepping to begin production on in a month or so. When asked if Marvels Captain America: The Winter Soldier will have a direct link to Marvels The Avengers: Age of Ultron, as the directors of the former promise, Whedon says that thats very much the case! But, he has to do this film like he did the first one, as if no one saw the other films before it. He says hes even going so far as to make the movie as if no one saw the FIRST. He says that hes using The Godfather: Part II as his guiding star, where its obvious A LOT has happened between the first and second movies, but you dont see any of it. Its mentioned, but the film isnt bogged down by any of it. So, with Marvels The Avengers: Age of Ultron, he has to still be truthful to the continuity presented in Marvels Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but at the same time make this movie as jump-on friendly as possible.
