THE WAYS TO PLEASE GOD. II Chro. 7:14, if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. What are the things that comes in your mind when you think to about the ways to please God? Is it that the works we did- helping the poor, needy or reading or studying Bible, going to the Church? Etc. This time, we will discuss four steps to please God and three promises from Him. 1. Humbleness ; before God. Just as Jesus humbled himself in living and dying for us(sinners). So we must be humble ourselves in repenting of our sins. If we are to received God’s forgiveness. God gives us no cause to boast in anything we might achieve. We can do nothing but acknowledge how helpless we are before God and humbly accepted God’s mercy. Thus to please God, humbleness is vital for us. 2. Prayer: Prayer is the way to have conversation with God. There is no other ways. Paul said, “Pray without ceasing”, So we must pray and Pray to please God. We can pray anywhere at any time. Pray is for us breathing for spiritual life as we breathe physical and crucial for us to talk to God and Please God. 3. Seeking God face: We must seek God’s face- His will. How? We can seek His face by Humbling, obeying his words, through prayer, living holy and an acceptable life, living in peace and love with each other, giving thanks in all circumstance and holding what is good/truth and avoiding every kinds of evil. Then only we can please God. 4. Turn from wicked ways: This is the last step and the very very important step to Please God. Without this, above steps- humbleness, prayer and seeking God’s face will be meaningless and useless before God and we can never please God. The wicked means which are not to do the Bible said evil things. We should remember the words of an Army officer said- “ If you don’t kill your enemies they will kill you. But if you kill your enemies you will be the winner.” Yes, we must also remembers that if we don’t turn from our wicked ways our wickedness will lead us to eternal death, but if we turn from our wicked ways we will be the WINNER and we will surly please God. Promises of God: So, If we please God, God promised us that- 1) He will hear us from Heaven 2) He will forgive our sin(s) and 3) He will heal us and our land. In this Heal us and our land, want to talk about problems in your family and couple, sickness, work place etc, he will heal. Not only that’s He will heal our own land. Thus, humbleness, prayer, seeking God’s face and Turning from our wicked ways are vital for us and these are a must for us to Please God. Thank you.
