THERE IS MUCH MORE GOOD IN THE WORLD THAN BAD On April 24, 2014 Amy Sue Seiser, our executive Director and myself had the privilege of representing The Bridge to Hope at an Award Ceremony dinner sponsored by the Canyon Institute. The Canyon Institute (CI) manages and oversees the investment of 92 donor-restricted scholarship endowment funds. These funds are a cherished legacy of the commitment as well as sacrifices made on the part of the donors. Canyon Institute is unique in their giving; they give exclusively to Christian organizations. In the last four years the Institute has awarded over $4,000,000 to various service agencies helping those who are less fortunate. The Bridge to Hope was very fortunate to be nominated and selected, along with several other agencies to receive support from this wonderful organization. As I sat with Amy Sue at dinner, I was struck by the goodness in the room. So many volunteers and professionals, all Christian, and all doing what they do to help others….just as Jesus would have us do. I was so impressed with the stories, with the obvious love in the room and, most important the reverence for our Lord and maker. We have a tendency to be so focused on what is wrong in the world, but in truth, there is much more about what is right and good. B2H, like so many other faith-based organizations could not survive without the generosity of organizations like Canyon Institute, Churches and Individuals who support our cause. And without it, Mothers and their children would continue to be homeless and without hope. Thank you Canyon Institute for reminding me there is so much good in the world. Have a Blessed day, Jerry Houston, B2H Board Member
