THEY ARE COAL MINERS My opponent calls them “skilled workers”. She doesn’t know them—I do. These “skilled workers” are my friends, my colleagues, fathers and mothers, providers. They are coal miners. Yesterday, 150 skilled, highly trained coal miners at the Bowie Mine near Paonia lost their jobs. Why? It’s painfully obvious—Obama’s War on Coal, an integral part of the Democrat agenda, is costing my friends and neighbors their jobs. I stand behind our energy producers and their families. While Democrats such as Mark Udall refuse to vote for the Keystone Pipeline and other measures to increase our independence from foreign energy, I will stand strong for our energy producers. I support all sources of energy production, whether it’s coal, natural gas, wind and solar, or oil. After the elections and the holidays are over, these workers and their families will still have bills to pay and families to feed. I promise to do my part to promote affordable, proven energy sources for our Colorado families—both producers and consumers. We will pray for these families, their communities, and their futures.
