TIS THAT MAGIC MORNING..... Yes, the magic morning has finally arrived..... children in households coast to coast sit amid piles of discarded Christmas wrapping.... childlike screams of joyous laughter and gibberish giggles echo thru the halls. Young children run to check the plate of cookies and glass of milk left for Santa..... to find a plate of a few crumbs.... an empty milk stained glass... squealing, Santa was really here.... I knew I heard him last night. It is Christmas morn at last.... and soon the wonderful smell of breakfast cooking everywhere will fill the kitchens. Young children playing with toys on the floor.... elder children and young teens will be trying on all the new clothes..... some on cell phones excitedly telling that closest friend what they received under the tree. The best days of Christmas are spent as a child, or with children, for our minds are distracted for a moment from those who are no longer present among us.... and that emotional, vacant, pain is absent. And now is the time for many of us to begin the preparation of Christmas dinner..... others will don their new Christmas clothing.... children will select certain toys to travel to parents, or grandparent homes for succulent meals..... and the young teens remain on the phone throughout the day. And memories of my youth surround me..... a young lad with his little single-shot .22 rifle in hand..... crossing snow covered field before daylight..... falling snow tickling eye lashes..... hunting, but not really hunting...... a happy emotional high within..... tho seeking the unknown before him. It is the morning most all are filled with happiness and joy..... And so Im offering this simple phrase, to kids from one to ninety-two. Although its been said many times, many ways... MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU
