TO ALL Welsh Pony & Cob Society of Australia ( WPCSA) members in Tasmania: All current Society members will have received a letter informing them that at present there is no Regional Promotional Group (RPG) in Tasmania. Earlier in 2014 some members of the RPG resigned, and, after running the Tasmanian All Welsh Show in December, the remaining members of the RPG informed the WPCSA Committee of Management of their resignations. Therefore the Tasmanian RPG is currently in recess. The Committee of Management felt it was very important that all Society members in Tasmania were informed of the situation and are encouraged to respond with their interest in reforming the RPG. As the letter forwarded to each current Society member by mail and also via the Society facebook page states – ‘If any members of Tasmania feel that in the future you would be interested in being a part of a Regional Group .... your expressions of interest should be put in writing and submitted to the Committee of Management for consideration.’ A summary of the current situation – • The Committee of Management would be very pleased to receive expressions of interest from any Society members in Tasmania who are interested in re-forming the RPG, or who would like more information on the function of RPGs • The funds from the Tasmanian RPG are being held by the WPCSA National Office until such time a new RPG is formed • Members of the Committee of Management will visit Tasmania to hold an open meeting for members. It would assist with the planned meeting if members who are interested in being part of an RPG provide this information early in the New Year when the National Office on the 12th January 2015. • The next meeting of the COM is for the Workshop / COM Meeting on February 8th & 9th 2015. The Committee of Management sincerely thanks all members who were involved in the RPG in Tasmania. Being on an RPG entails a lot of time and effort to ensure the administrative requirements are met, as well as the organisation of events for members.
