TO: Scandia Riders Saddle Club members, Team Sorting Clinics and “Beginner” Competition The clinics will be ‘slow speed’ with the emphasis on how to acquaint the horse with cattle, learn the rules, how to read and move the cattle, and have a fun evening on horseback. Horse and rider safety is the first priority. At the “Beginner Competition,” the riders can practice the skills learned in the Team Sorting Clinics. Each team will be allowed to sort for their allotted time, even if the team is disqualified by having cattle cross the timer out of order. Emphasis will be on safety and following the rules of the game. You must sign up in advance at a Scandia Riders Saddle Club meeting. Each clinic and the “beginner” team sorting competition are limited to 15 riders. Cost is $20 per horse/rider for each clinic and “beginner” team sorting.
