TOP: WATER IN INDIA // BOTTOM: WATER IN AMERICA 243 cases of contamination of private drinking wells from oil and gas drilling operations in Pennsylvania. Lets really talk about fracking in the USA, how money hungry these gas companies are they that dont even have consideration for public safety. Lets talk about the state of California temporarily suspending companies from leasing public land for fracking while research was conducted. The report concluded that fracking was not harmful to the environment BUT WAIT PLEASE!. The scientists noted they did not have enough time nor data to make a SOUND conclusion. They stated they could not conclude fracking contaminated ground water because they had no data on the quality of water near fracking sites. ( that vague response was enough to allowed the fracking to continue ) basically the report said we cant say its harmful because we dont have access to any of the data needed to see if it is harmful. Companies keep the chemicals they use secret because its part of the business trade. A.K.A, we dont know whats being pumped into our water, all we do know is people in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Texas and many others state where fracking occurs have brown, flammable drinking water. & instead of drilling companies sharing the chemical list and allowing a thorough research of the process and potential harm, they just shell out settlements to selected families while our water sources are being depleted. The same water is providing life for animals and plants, and not many studies have been conducted on those yet. Fracking also releases gases and harsh smells that affect both humans and animals. Many states arent really rushing to defend our water sources because of the money flow and revenue being made from the drilling companies. Pennsylvanias been keeping those contamination cases secret for some years.
