TRIVIA 712 KASERA. Our usage of this loanword is rather broad. To us it is either “boarder” or the “owner of the boarding house,” and “nangangasera” means, one is staying in a boarding house. But if you look it up in the Spanish dictionaries, “huesped” is the word for “boarder” and “casero/a” is the adverb “domestic,” while “boarding house” is “casa de hespuedes.” However, the landlord of a rented room is also called “casero/a.” So much confusion for such a simple “house” word.
