Take it or leave it, to be an MD of a bank today in Nigeria is more tasking than being a Governor of a state. There are about 36 states in Nigeria while we have less than 30 banks. Most if not all the National banks are more diversified culturally, ethically, professionally and otherwise. They are also more gender sensitive and operate in wider spectrum than our states. so if one has a magic wand to transform one of those banks from no 14 to no 5 in less than 4 years, there is the likelihood that that same person by applying same principles and ingenuiety can transform his state in less than one tenure. Do you see why Dr. Alex Ottis credentails stands him out from the crowd. to see it another way is either being too sentimental or myopic.
