Take note of this press statement from PJ MPs, ADUN & Councillors regarding @pjcitycouncil attempts to amend RTPJ1 & RTPJ2 (PJ Local Plans). As you know, TRANSIT stands against the proposal to build the #KiDex Toll Highway through the centre of Petaling Jaya, and prefers that a North-South Petaling Jaya LRT be built in its place. TRANSIT believes that a #PJLRT will move 10 times as many people as the KiDEx Highway for essentially the same construction cost (RM160-170 million per km), with far less visual pollution, air pollution and noise pollution. Moreover, the Petaling Jaya LRT would establish a connected rapid transit network for Petaling Jaya, with connections to the Ampang LRT in Kinrara, the KTM Komuter in Old Town, the Federal Highway Bus Rapid Transit and Kelana Jaya LRT at PJ State and the Sg. Buloh-Kajang MRT in Section 17. Hence we encourage Petaling Jaya residents to stand behind the sensible action of their wakil rakyat. Statement via @rajiv4malaysia
