Taking time to reflect on 2014 I can see some cool things that happened; it was great to enjoy the year after finishing grad school (meaning no papers due by midnight Sunday), I finished all my chaplain requirements for the Army, I dropped 20 pounds and got in the best shape of my life (which means I didnt have to have back surgery), took time to enjoy my family and celebrate 10 years of marriage to my amazing wife. But then I ask myself, How much did I impact Gods kingdom this year? How many people found out about Christ because of me? How obedient was I to Gods command to bring the Gospel to all nations? This year, I want more than just health and family; I want to see God use my family to do amazing things through us to draw people to him. I want to love God with all I am and not just be content to give God some of my life. This year I encourage you to think of more than just health, wealth, and personal happiness. Instead, ask what you can give to God to see his kingdom come here on earth through you. Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:9-10 NLT)
