Talked to an ex gang member and told him that practicing the concept of love is not the same as paying lip service to it. Its a discipline that has to be exercised constantly and with conscious effort. Learning how to love instead of hate is a big jump for some people especially our youth because they are bludgeoned subliminally every day by the stupidity of glorified ignorance they see in the entertainment industry. I asked him to think about the difference from disrespect and a perceived impulse to make excuses to fight to vent frustrations they havent learned to accurately identify in themselves yet. Picking up a gun or knife doesnt make you a warrior but picking up the intelligence not to engage in senseless violence and criminality takes the kind of courage few people are taught to practice and that includes violence in the mind.....
