Tanners Voyages (Home life) Chap Twenty Nine / Segment Three. Its getting warmer. The days, longer. Everywhere we see, a spirit of peace abounds. On top of the mountain across from us a guard house sits in the distance. A few others further down the mountain range. The guards mostly stay out of sight. Looking out the window as the son rises the cool of morning tingling on her skin. Jake was snoring and Chalny stirring I guess its time to start the day. The wind from the forest line Mixed the scent of flowers with Pine. I signaled Chalny to be quiet. We got up and put on our robes and had some coffee and a danish. Poor Jake was exhausted. We said little, sitting there on the sofa. She always had the ability to mind talk We just sat there exchanging thoughts and memories of last night and this morning. I heard Jin asking in her mind talk, Is it ok to come up the stairs? I said sure just be quiet cause Jake is sleeping. Chalny and I wore him out. I snickered, Jins wicked laugh inside my head always tickled me. Chalny and I snuggled close and I was nibbling on Chalnys ear as Jin opened the door. Jin snickered and in her mind talk she said I remember how that felt. Margret snickered, I remember too. Why dont we all go spend some time in the hot tub before you go. After breakfast, (Janet Cooked) We all went downstairs and bathed in the big shower. We played and then sat in the bubbles of the hot tub. Playing and splashing and snuggling, We had a great time together. Margret heard the transport buzzer. Jake said in her mind, Ill get it you girls stay down there and have some fun. Perim beamed in and both walked down the stairs. Perim smiled and took off her cover and climbed in dipping her head all the way down in the water and rising up slicking her hair back. Jin and Janet swam over and kissed her saying welcome. Jake watched at the half way landing of the stairs sipping on his coffee. Jake said, I have some reports Perim brought for me to read. He went back upstairs and sat going over the reports as the girls moaned and played. After a while we all dried off downstairs and got dressed. Perim was slipping on her cover as they climbed the stairs. She said Jake no play with girls? Perim, Our people are much like yours but there is a boundary we do not cross. We girls can play as we do here. As Ellen and I do there. but no father/ daughter coupling. For us it is considered wrong. We have harsh laws against it. Even harsher now that we are fewer than before. Perim said, But Jin is not child of your body. We stepped through the door into the living room and sat in chairs and on the sofa. Margret continued, Perim, for our people. Jake carries the seed of life. We girls all carry the egg of life. We never use seed of father inside daughter. Perim said, confused, You use seed of past father in Janet. and Jin is not... Jake interrupted, You mean not of my seed and Margrets body like little Ryack is inside her now. Jake sat down and said Jin, sit with me for a moment please. He said to Perim, Jin here is not of my body, and I wish she was. She is child of my heart and I love her dearly. I could never be more proud of the person she is or the woman she has grown into. This boundary for me is love. I love this woman almost as much as I love my two wives. I could never do such a thing with Jin. In my eyes she is my daughter. always and forever. Last night at a special ceremony welcoming everybody back. I told everybody of the great complement my daughter ever paid me. She said, You dont say you love. You show you love. and that all that I am is because of you who raised me. Perim what I didnt say and probably should have said, was he looked deep into Jins eyes and said, Thank you for teaching me the joys of being a father, and loving me well beyond words, of filling my heart with joy unspeakable. The father I am now and the father I will be with Mandie and Ryack is because of you. Jin you teach just as much as you learn. The man that I am now is because of you. I will love you forever. Jin was deeply affected. She hugged and kissed her father with tears streaming down her face. Wiping tears he continued Janet I have seen through you how the bond of love can sew back together and heal many things. My link with your mother has opened my eyes to a great many things. Perim linking us as you did changed all our lives forever and I am grateful more than I have words. Perim said, Your top not so hard no more. Softer now, Many things sink in. The girls snickered at Jake. She continued, I understand, Many years ago one of our domes developed a fault and imploded. Killed many of the community. Mothers and Fathers die. Children in schools and nursery have no one. Many open hearts and care for children. We called them Spirit children, for parents spirits now. Jake nodded his head. Thats right. Jin is my Spirit child. Looking at the report he said, The Zenite Ore you need is on Raider Planet. It seems the whole world is made of it. The girls can guide you there. I have sent a message and the ore is ready to transport. Perim, for them it is not a place of happy memories. Perim said they shall stay on-board and be comforted. It is almost time for my daughters baby. We must return soon. Margret was silent as Jake talked but what she shared in his heart told him volumes and Chalny was given a glimpse at the love they share. Perim stood and said girls are you ready. All the girls had on was their robes but knew there they needed nothing so they held hands saying. Perim walked over to Jake and said you good man, but better now. Jake embraced Perim saying I am because of you and kissed her good bye. He gave the girls a kiss and all three beamed up. Margret embraced her husband saying there goes out two little noise makers. Chalny hugged Jake on his other side saying I think we made just as much noise as they did. Chalny licked the edge of his ear sending a shiver down Jakes spine. He gasped saying Girls-Girls I have to eat something and regain my strength. Margret said the only cook in the house just beamed away so I guess we need go go eat out. Margret licked the edge of his other ear giving him another shiver. He gasped again saying Im never going to win am I. Both girls started walking into the bedroom snickering they turned back at Jake saying Never.
