In a statement, Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said the President continues to keep in touch with his official family and is given regular, daily updates and provides instructions to the Executive Secretary. Lacierda said the President is getting updates from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. He said the Presidents instruction to NDRRMC is to ensure proactive disaster preparedness. That instruction is being faithfully carried by the cabinet and subcabinet members of the NDRRMC, as manifested by the preparations for Luis, Mario, the Mayon evacuation and this Habagat, he said. Aquino went on an 8-day trip to Europe from September 14 to 20, which is his first visit to the region since he assumed office in 2010. He will then head to New York City to attend the United Nations Global Climate Change Summit. The President is expected to return to Manila on September 25. #MarioPh
