Tax Trade Centre Conservation Online Support Form THANK YOU LETTER (rough translation) First, we would like to thank all those who have signed the petition supporting the proposals of the Honorary Consul General of Finland to preserve the cultural and historic values of the Tax Trade Centre, which were sent by letter to the Hồ Chí Minh City Peoples Committee. By 16/10/2014, 10 days after the petition was launched, we had received 3,482 signatures, with the number continuing to increase. Those who signed the petition come from many different areas and include: 703 students 341 office workers 122 engineers 144 architects 5 professors 13 PhDs 24 physicians 40 journalists 20 lawyers 89 teachers ...as well as many other trades and professions. This is indeed a good sign, because it shows that many people still cherish the history and culture of Saigon in particular and of Việt Nam in general. The contribution of each person, however small, has fired up the teams determination to represent the consciousness of the people and to take the appropriate steps to conserve our national history and culture, and over the past few weeks we have worked to the best of our ability to this end. We hereby announce that the online petition will now be temporarily closed and we hope to soon get an official response from the authorities in the matter of the conservation of the Tax Trade Centre. Once again, the group would like to thank everyone who has participated.
