Tax season is just around the corner, which means we are about to BOOM in business!! Now, this means there may be competition for spots as everyone tries to get in at once, and this is the time of year my calendar starts booking out 3 months in advance. Here are some tips to help you get the spot you want, and the pieces you desire this year: 1. Be open and willing to view all of the artists portfolios. You may have one artist in mind already, but if they dont have spots to fit your schedule, you may be surprised at how well one of our other artists can fit your needs! 2. Know what you want. You dont have to know all of the specifics, but a general idea of what youre looking to get and where you want it will save a LOT of draw/prep time. With Google, Pinterest, and TONS of tattoo design sites out there, you should have plenty of inspiration. Then, you can go over those ideas with your artist to work out a one-of-a-kind design thats right for YOU. 3. Always call ahead to get an idea of available artists and wait times before heading out. Walk-in does not necessarily mean you will be able to get work done as soon as you walk in. Calling ahead will let you know how busy each artist is that particular day. 4. Walk-ins work best with smaller, simpler pieces that can be prepped and completed within 2-3 hours. Anything larger or more complicated should be scheduled in advance to guarantee ample work time. 5. You dont have to set only one appointment at a time. If you are getting a large piece that takes multiple sessions, you only pay one deposit, and the other sessions are automatically booked out. Also, if you know you will want frequent appointments, you can book weekly, biweekly, and monthly spots to suit your schedule. We hope this helps make it easier as we start getting busier! Remember; do your research before deciding on ANY shop or artist! Portfolios, cleanliness, knowledge and attitude should always be considered BEFORE price!
