Team of week has 4 man u players: Chelsea made it a club record 12-match unbeaten league start as their dominant win over 10-man West Brom extended their lead to seven points. Manchester City beat Swansea to remain eight points behind in third, while Manchester United moved into the top four with victory at Arsenal. At the other end, Burnley moved off the bottom with victory at Stoke. Following the weekends action, take a look at my team of the week and see if you agree with my choices. ------ GOALKEEPER - Ben Foster (West Brom) Foster has kept 24 clean sheets in 102 Premier League games for West Bromwich Albion--------- -- DEFENDER - Antonio Valencia (Manchester United) Manchester Uniteds Valencia had a team high 68 touches against Arsenal What an asset Antonia Valencia has proved to be for Manchester United. I remember when he was a very exciting Wigan player with huge potential. It would seem that he realised all of that as a winger under Sir Alex Ferguson, but he seems to offer Louis Van Gaal another solution at full back. His performance against Arsenal was full of running and he has the intelligence and ability to fulfil the problematic right-back position on a permanent basis. DEFENDER - Tyler Blackett (Manchester United) just three of Blacketts 48 touches against Arsenal were in the opposition half. DEFENDER - Brede Hangeland (Crystal Palace) DEFENDER - Brede Hangeland (Crystal Palace) Hangeland made his 223rd Premier League appearance this weekend, but his first ever as a substitute DEFENDER - Gael Clichy (Manchester City Clichy is still yet to score a Premier League goal for Man City in 85 appearances. He only has one in 272 appearances for Arsenal and City. Gael Clichy has never scored for Manchester City but, had it not been for a fantastic fingertip save by Lukasz Fabianski that pushed the ball on to a post, he would have done against Swansea. It was one hell of a strike and another sound performance from the France international. It would appear that Manuel Pellegrini is happy to play the Frenchman more often these days. It will be very interesting who is selected against Bayern Munich in the Champions League in a massive week for the manager and the club. MIDFIELDER - Moussa Sissoko (Newcastle United) Newcastles Sissoko scored his first Premier League goal in 19 games. MIDFIELDER - Nemanja Matic (Chelsea) Matic completed 94% of the 96 passes he attempted against West Brom - only twice has he completed more passes in a Premier League game. MIDFIELDER - Leon Osman (Everton) Osman has scored two in his last three games in all competitions for Everton after failing to find the back of the net in his previous 17 appearances for the Toffees. MIDFIELDER - Angel Di Maria (Manchester United) Di Maria has now recorded 20 league assists in 2014, more than any other player in the top five European leagues. MIDFIELDER - Yannick Bolasie (Crystal Palace Bolasie was involved in seven efforts on goal against Liverpool - four shots and three chances created - the joint most by a Palace player this season----- FORWARD - Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) Rooney scored his first Premier League goal away from home since netting a brace at Upton Park in March Rooney won his 100th England cap against Slovenia, destroyed Scotland at Celtic Park before returning for club duty without fuss to put Arsenal to the sword. No one has scored more goals against Arsenal in the Premier League than the Manchester United maestro and I cant think of an English player in the modern game who has worked harder or deserves more recognition for his accomplishments . Congratulations Wayne, youve had a wonderful week. ---- Team Played Goal Difference Points View full table No movement 1 Chelsea 12 19 32 No movement 2 Southampton 11 18 25 No movement 3 Man City 12 11 24 No movement 4 Man Utd 12 4 19 No movement 5 Newcastle 12 -1 19 No movement 6 West Ham 12 4 18 No movement 7 Swansea 12 3 18 No movement 8 Arsenal 12 5 17 No movement 9 Everton 12 3 17 No movement 10 Tottenham 12 -1 17 No movement 11 Stoke 12 -2 15 No movement 12 Liverpool 12 -3 14 No movement 13 West Brom 12 -4 13 No movement 14 Sunderland 12 -7 13 No movement 15 Crystal Palace 12 -4 12 No movement 16 Hull 12 -3 11 No movement 17 Aston Villa 11 -11 11 No movement 18 Leicester 12 -7 10 No movement 19 Burnley 12 -12 10 No movement 20 QPR 12 -12 8 • -------ASTON VILLA V SOUTHAMPTON---- -------11pm----------- MATCH FACTS Head-to-head • Southampton have only ever won six of 32 league matches at Villa Park, although four of those victories have come in the 15 Premier League meetings. • There have only been five goals in the last five league games between the two sides at Villa Park.
