Testing, Testing: New Puppy Name Finalists Cato and Sheena -- final two names were leaning towards for our new German Shepherd pups. Sheena -- Gods Blessings (Girl) An Irish girls name that means Gods blessings. What else need be said? Cato -- Liberty Warrior (Boy) Great Roman who rebelled against the tyranny of Rome and Caesar (Cato the Elder). Cato was the pen name for George Clinton who was an anti-Federalist (one of many who wrote with pen names from 1787-88 opposing the original U.S. Constitution during debates leading to its creation). The anti-Federalists fought to protect individual liberty from a potential over-reaching, expanding central government. Their writings--essays submitted to New York newspapers--became known as the anti-Federalist Papers. Most important, their efforts were pivotal in the addition of the Bill of Rights. After the Bill of Rights was added, Clinton withdrew his objections to the U.S. Constitution. He was the 4th Vice President of the United States under Thomas Jefferson and James Madison. Considered one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. Testing, testing, testing... :)
