Thursday, Oct 24th, I kicked off the celebration with a great night with friends at Costa dEstes The Wave restaurant for their monthly 4 course wine pairing dinner. The food was a modern adaptation of traditional Andean dishes with a Chinese fusion.. Per menu: . welcoming wine - Chilean Sauvignon Blanc . 1st course was pan seared tilapia w picante de mariscos - paired w Argentinean Torrontes . 2nd course was Peruvian Tallarin saltado de pollo - Argentinean Malbec Classic . 3rd course Argentenian Grilled steak w a chimichurri twist - Argentinean Malbec Gran Reserva . 4th course Chocolate Bon Bon w Maraschino Cherry and Raspberry glaze - Uruguayan Tannat/Merlot All wines are boutiquey, most from the Bodegas Sue de los Andes and can be purchased at Chelseas. The staff was great, the food and wine paired nicely. I highly recommend. $50pp. The wine pairing dinners will begin again on the last Thursday of the month, come January.
