Thank you for all of the comments regarding Veterans Day. I am truly blessed to have a great family/friends and support system during my service time. Tom Cruise - Regarding your comments maybe your set was brutal (i guess you didnt have Tivo or something) but heres what you dont understand: you will never experience the pride that comes from putting on your first set of uniforms, you wont get to see the faces of your family on graduation day and the smiles/tears that come, you wont build strong relationships with the men/women you stand shoulder to shoulder with during your service that can never be broken, you havent crowded around a small laptop with 15 other guys to watch a bootleg copy of a movie and enjoyed every minute of it, you probably dont get goosebumps when our National Anthem is played, or tears in your eyes while watching the Old Glory being raised up, how close have you been to an IED exploding? or actual bullets coming your direction? ever had to skype with a terrible connection during multiple consecutive holidays? ever had to deal with an 8 second delay over a pay phone where 1 minute of talk time cost you 10 actual minutes after standing in line for 3 hours? And you wont step off of a plane after being away from your family (which they by the way have gone through intense stress over constant worry about your safety as well) along with your brothers in arms and walk into, no, run into an absolute loving embrace from which words can not truly describe. There are many more things that you can never truly comprehend that come with serving our Nation, but you see my point. But keep thinking or believing what you feel is true and talk all you want, while we go back to our job and ensure that you continue to have that freedom of speech because that what we do :-) For all of those that have served before me, every generation in of my family and all the great men and women whom have paved the way for us, for all of those that continue to serve today, my closest friends (there are too many to tag without forgetting some), and for those in the future that take on the great respectable task of service to our Nation I SALUTE YOU! Keep fighting the good fight! That is all :-)
