Thank you for the birthday wishes everyone. I did have an interesting day, power walking in the rain to yoga and bam, down I go, not much damage, only to my ego. Lunch with the ladies at the Golf club then the little girls next door came over to teach me some more tok pisin (pidgeon), they call me lapun meri (old woman), they play with the wrinkles on my neck and the tuckshop arms, 54 up here is ancient, they lead such harsh lives. Life for we white meris is pretty relaxed, we do a lot of voluntary work with the hospital (not hands on in the wards) and the pikinini library, cards and morning teas, walking to the market most days to see what we can hunt and gather, so life is pretty full for us.
