Thank you to County Commissioner Terry Sabo and former Sheriff Bob Carter for all the hard work you put into the Legends Flight. You made the dreams of many local heroes come true with your veterans trip to Washington DC. Not only that, you gave thousands of us the chance to personally say thank you to them with the special welcome home we got share in at the airport as was we met the plane when they came home. I saw several generations of families gathered to welcome home these honored veterans, standing beside friends, neighbors and strangers who all were there to thank them for their service to our Country and the freedom we so dearly cherish. As I looked around the huge hanger that night, I saw Muskegon at its finest. Every age, every neighborhood, every diversity, every walk of life joined together to celebrate and be thankful for the courage and sacrifices these veterans made on our collective lives. This renewed my faith in what I already believed...that Muskegon is on the way to a wonderful renewal of spirit, energy and revival of its once thriving economy and society.
