Thanks for taking part I hope you all found it enjoyable and no doubt challenging. Well done to everyone. Just to make sure we all clear about the incidents that occurred. Richard Lewis – when approaching Durdle door had trouble remounting, lost his paddle and was swimming with boat toward beach. A member of the public called the Coastguard and the RNLI boat on station picked him up. They considered he was hypothermic and requested the Helicopter to transfer him to hospital. He was checked over and released. Andy Philips – A Local paddler realised he had overshot the cove and paddled into Lulworth range beach. With no mobile reception he ran up to Army camp and reported his location. Tom Dawson - retired early and was dropped back at Weymouth beach (not start point) by the IRB. Therefore Weymouth Base could not confirm that he had returned to base. Tom had a mobile but his partner at the finish did not have reception. We had to be cautious and maintain a search until located.
