Thanks to Daniel Grzywacz and Razan Al Marzouqi, I now know the heady thrills of the 4DX experience at the Regal Cinemas. Every unlocked door, flushed toilet and flashy establishing shot delivers a pleasant massage to the viewers backs and buttocks. Camera flashes trigger strobe lights and gunshots release puffs of stale air from the seats headrests. Car chases and fist fights, however, are likely to result in nausea, whiplash and spilled popcorn. If I were in charge, the audience would receive interactive items to further enhance the experience. Showings of TAKEN 3, for example, would include a steering wheel, a gun and a bag of suspiciously warm bagels to help Forest Whitaker solve the mystery.
