Thanks to Dog Town & a group of wonderful ACCT volunteers these dogs will remain together & will be returned to their owner once he is back up on his feet! Thanks to a shelter volunteer who had the fortitude to approach a man who was reluctantly and tearfully surrendering his dogs to Philly Animal Control Tuesday night, these bonded dogs are going to safe, temporary housing until their owner gets back on his feet. This gentleman lost his job and eventually his home leaving him with the gut-wrenching decision to surrender his pets to the city’s overcrowded shelter. He needs 6-8 weeks as he starts a new job and can afford housing again. A village of volunteers pulled together and without hesitation took on the task of getting these dogs into a safe haven. You and I hear stories of people giving up pets due to a downturn in their life. You can’t fathom being in that situation but it happened to this guy. Our neighbor, our friend, it happens to people we know. Funds are being raised to keep Bo-G and Ginger together in boarding until their owner takes them back home.
