The 1938 Winter Carnival Ice Palace was built in Daytons Bluff in or next to the old Bluff Playground which was destroyed when I-94 cut through the area. The houses in the background are on Plum St. near the western edge of Mounds Park on the south side of I-94. They still exist today. Does anyone have a photo, map or memory that could precisely determine the Ice Palaces proximity to Plum St.? Depending on its exact location that spot could either still exist today or else be part of the I-94 Mounds Blvd. entrance ramp.
