The 1972 Durley Park Sunset Little League All-Star team placed second in the world (as I have previously posted) losing the championship game to Taiwan-Taipei. As some of you know, I wrote the mayor of Oxnard, city council and the Parks and Recreation Dept a few months back stating my opinion that a permanent plaque should be placed at the park and a ceremony should be held commemorating their accomplishments. My intention was solely for the recognition and the placement of the plaque. Next thing I know, the mayor and the Parks and Recreation Dept are in total agreement with me and get me involved in the planning process. Anyways, after a couple of months of effort- and 42 years later- today, I was able to track down and contact the final member of the 14 man roster.
