The 28th Maori Battalion, a piece of history that will be fortold of its legacy forever....in our present and future, Maori Warriors, Taumatauenga God of War. I animated a simple design to give an understanding of what it took for Herorism and the ultimate sacrifice these soldiers endured in the face of the enemy. Stories of one Maori Warrior taking out a whole platoon of the enemy whilst being wounded many times over, and paying the Ultimate Sacrifice. Tebaga Gap in Tunisia 1943 there were many Heroric scenes many dying to over whelm the primary objective, keeping the enemy at bay. In this short animation it gives you as the viewer a sense of that atmosphere of the battle, where many Commonwealth forces fought, the Maori Battalion were highly respected from the enemy and Leader Erwin Rommel of the Afrika Korps, whose men fought fiercely against them. The Victoria Cross whos Recipient 2nd Lieutenant Ngarimu was that Maori Warrior who fought and died his actions are legendary. The video portrays a still image and talk of the 28th Infantry Maori Battalion, with 2 memorable songs of that period depicting the life during war and after it. The first the contribution and courage the men of the 28th Battalion, and the second The famous Maori Battalion song that gave the soldiers a moral boost when facing there Fears on the battlefield. This was a animation video for students who want to use this material for projects and assignments. I wanted to pursue and keep the Legend of The Maori Battalion alive for future generations.
