The 3rd edition of the Revenue Statistics in Latin America has just been released in Santiago, Chile! Analyzing the 1990-2012 period, this new publication highlights: -“Tax revenues in Latin American countries continue to rise”: “the tax to GDP ratio rose […] from 13.9% of GDP in 1990 to 20.7% of GDP in 2012” - Over the 2007-2012 period, 11 countries [of the 18 covered by the publication] recorded increases”, - “The tax to GDP ratio [of 18 Latin-American countries] is still 14 percentage points below the OECD average of 34.6%” The report, produced jointly by the Inter-American Centre of Tax Administrations (Ciat), the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the OECD Centre for Tax Policy and Administration and the OECD Development Centre, presents a special chapter describing the trends driving revenues from non-renewable natural resources across Latin America.
