The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation seeks to appoint a Media, Marketing and Communications Manager. Job Summary This post requires a person who a passion for media and marketing and who can work under pressure and tight deadlines to ensure that the Foundation has the appropriate public profile and awareness of its work. The work of this position entails the full range of media, marketing and communications work, from strategy development to implementation. Duties: Develop and implement media, marketing and communications strategies for the AKF; Develop and manage the AKF’s social media; Media liaison; Draft press statements and releases; Manage the AKF’s media library; Media monitoring; Media design and layout; Recording AKF’s public events. Skills required: Relevant degree; At least 3 years’ relevant experience; Excellent communication, writing and editing skills; Strong team working abilities; Ability to work in a diverse environment; Experience, in areas such as website content, newsletter, and donor communications. The ability to take knowledge and transform it into exciting and useful messages, and disseminate it to the audiences through the best distribution channels is critical; A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently; High energy, maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels; Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, programme participants, and other supporters; Self-starter, able to work independently and enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
