The America in my heart is rejoicing tonight! Voting is a constitutional right. We should be making it easy to vote because democracy requires participation. The Republican-drafted voter ID laws are merely the new poll tax intended to suppress the votes of the elderly and various ethnic and racial constituents that traditionally vote Democratic. And THAT is the holy all of it. These Republican poll tax laws are intended to strip us of our right to vote BECAUSE we tend to vote Democratic. Maybe THAT is what we should label these partisan attempts: Democratic poll tax brought to the USA by the Republican Party. Naming is very important. Placing responsibility is imperative.
